General Information - Missing Person Transactions (MPQ/MPR)
In our continuing efforts to support Public Safety effort to combat human trafficking Nlets provides the MPQ/MPR message key provide a method to query historical and current missing persons data from a state.
This message key is intended to supplement the FBI Missing Persons Query. The FBI query will only return data for an open missing person’s case. The MPQ will return historical and current information related to a missing person. The MPQ can be sent to any state the supports the query.
Missing Person's Query / Missing Persons Response
This section provides an overview and details regarding the Missing Persons Query by name/date of birth/sex to a state (MPQ), and the corresponding Missing Person's Response (MPRR),
Overview
To send a Missing Persons Query (MPQ), enter Name/Date of Birth/Sex (see "Query by Name/DOB/Sex" below).

Other possible responses to a query are:
- NOT ON FILE
- FILE NOT AVAILABLE
- TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE
Query Requirements
- Each Missing Persons Query (MPQ) can be sent to no more than five addresses.

Response Requirements
Positive responses (Missing Persons Incident Information) must be in the format presented below.
- Should the information be unavailable, a standard message is returned by the state.
- If the inquiry was processed and there was no information on file, a standard "no record" message is returned. The format for each of these follows the positive response format.
- The message should be compacted to eliminate spaces resulting from missing or unavailable data elements.
