General Information - CAD to CAD (CTC)
Overview
The purpose of the CAD-to-CAD (CTC) transaction is to allow Nlets to facilitate the sharing of CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) messages to another CAD. There are three potential use cases for this message type:
- Allow inter-state CAD data sharing
- Allow PSAPs that are not on the state CJIS system to send and receive CAD messages
- Allow CADs whose state CJIS systems are not able to process CAD messages to send and receive them between CADs
This message is an unsolicited message. No response is required when receiving a CTC message. The base of these message utilizes the NLETSMailData element. This provides each system the ability to format the payload as it is appropriate.
Nlets also provides a standard schema for these messages if required. This schema was developed as part of a CAD-to-CAD proof of concept with the state of Maryland. The schema definition may be downloaded from this site. In addition to the schema definition, a sample of the Nlets CAD-to-CAD standardized format is also available for download.
