General Information - Mobile Device Lookup (MDQ/MDR)
Mobile Device Lookup Transactions (MDQ/MDR)
This section describes the Mobile Device Lookup transactions which provide Nlets users with information about a mobile phone based on its IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identification). The IMEI is a unique identifier for a mobile device similar to a VIN for an automobile and may be found in the mobile device settings or from the carrier associated with the device. The mobile device lookup transaction leverages the Recipero National Mobile Property Register (NMPR) service made available to Nlets to aid in law enforcement activities involving mobile devices.
Nlets users will send a MDQ message to the destination NL and will receive a MDR response message from the ORI NL0000000. The Recipero NMPR service logs each query so that subsequent MDQ messages sent through Nlets will receive the history of all queries and events associated with the device IMEI.
